“Our technologies mimics aspects of Nature and ‘Reality’ for they are all drawn from it (there is no other place to draw from). This is expressed in technical features of, for example, computing systems.
In downloading something large 2(5 gigs) on a console, the download begins at a modest rate, say, 25mbps. Over time, the connection is upgraded, in steps… reaching toward 500mbps.
And so it is in a wide variety of our developmental and relational circumstances. It takes time for a process to develop momentum and focus. A path that would have seemed to require 10 years in at the rate it proceeded in the beginning, ends up taking 12 months.
Intimacy and true friendship are also like this… they build the transfer of awareness and benefit in a ladder, that, as the process continues, accelerates what can be transferred in a stepwise fashion.
In a good relationship or learning practice, our experience can be like this. Seemingly slow and painstaking, but leading to a radical uptick in our capacity to embody and transfer ‘gifts’, as we learn more about ourselves, our passion is awakened, and a process that was crawling a moment ago is suddenly ‘flying’.”
