The sky or earth answers. The trees answer. The movements of the world will answer our dearest pleas. But not with words. Nor will they be directed. Everyone can tell the difference. Between intimacy and domination. Presence and distraction. It’s difficult to understand, but doesn’t need an explanation, theory or religion. If our heart speaks from its roots to the sky and world, they answer. How this could become surprising is, itself, a riddle. Language and statements become confused with reality and speaking. Then we forget that speaking is not the movement of the soul’s tongue, and thus may fail to move the ear of the stars and earth, the sky and ancestors. And thus may fail to move the future’s heart. The soul is a bell. When it sings, the world knows its own song, and answers. Bells do not emit words or sentences. They ring.
