Contexts that produce superfunction invoke powers of intelligence that are otherwise co-opted or undeveloped. We ‘didn’t get’ another ‘Einstein’ because Einstein wasn’t exactly an individual with properties all his own. Unless we assemble the contexts in which mutual excellence arises and matters, we not only will not ‘passively receive’ excellence… we will fail to become it together.
