It’s impossible to understand what ‘profit’ even means if we include the environmental, social and health damage that industries and resource extraction require for their operations and produce. In fact, there is no way to evaluate the costs of this damage, because ecologies are irreplaceable. Effectively, ‘profit’ is the result of environmental and social damage that is largely impossible to remedy, and is a method of ‘stealing from the future’ not only of mankind, but all of life on Earth.
