“Every act of human communication posits a route, and associated transformations of attention, position, relation and mind. In our modern circumstances, most of these routes are intensely toxic, and lead not to desirable destinations, but to roles as symptoms or expressions… of disease… particularly relational disease.
Given these circumstances, we must learn.. together… to discriminate between communications activities that are enriching, or at least neutral, and those that cast us into roles and futures that are both undesirable and unsustainable.
I will add as an aside that it is participation in ‘news’ that most significantly compromises our actual potentials for humanity, intelligence, and truly participatory mutual awareness. For this reason I encourage you to develop the senses that alert you when you are being indoctrinated by media whose origins and concerns have nothing to do with intelligence, or even information, but are, instead, conversion cons that aim to force you into roles and perspectives that disempower and dehumanize you.
Lastly, beware of any communications activity that frames you as a victim, for this is one of the most common, contagious, and devastating results of participation in the ‘modern’ communications frameworks.”
