Many garden spiders in their webs today. A few other notable events, bee birth today (a few days after the new moon… it appears there are birthing days around both the new and full moon). Also witnessed a honeybee successfully wrestling a wasp (yellowjacket) at the hive entrance… which is a bit like watching a man wrestle a tank and win… but yellowjackets are relatively lazy, and hang out near the entrance primarily to prey upon injured or wounded bees (or ejected males which have no sting). They sometimes enter the hive, but are generally quickly ejected. Saw two species of crab spiders in the gardens and many other small creatures including various kinds of wasps.
