∞ “Those we become involved with… become as organs of our minds. This can happen instantaneously. There are skills and intelligences involved, however, the basis is emotional; it is a matter of intimacy.

It is as if we select ‘satellite’ intelligences, around whom we ‘orbit’, and who, in turn, orbit us. These arrangements form constellations, and in our minds and hearts, these networks come to life. This is a form of intelligence we are largely unaware of. Our minds are modular, and were evolved in close proximity … in ‘teams’ of other minds, living places and lives.

There are other orders of seeing and intelligence that we have rarely dreamed of, and many of their roots are not in arcane theories of metaphysics… they are in communion. That is, the joining of hearts and minds in purposes true, noble, human, intelligent, humane… and glorious. But to touch these other ways of seeing we must establish the contexts and agreements that are their nurseries. The contexts we traditionally or habitually enforce instead… either inhibit or co-opt these potentials.

If we can together establish purposes and relational contexts whose orientation sustains the momentous possibilities of human persons and minds we shall at last discover what it means to be intelligent and vitally engaged. But in order to have the opportunity to discover and awaken our faculties and potentials, we must have relational purposes and contexts that catalyze, encourage and celebrate them. These will not be delivered to passive recipients. Where we do not establish them, we may expect… and become the opposite.”
