“To read the news, one would think that ‘scientists’ is a term that represents a species of humans that are, effectively, ‘the miracle-makers’. The gods. Of an ever-more advanced ‘future’ filled with seemingly impossible wonders. And the declarators of identity, meaning, function… reality. Modern people actually speak of science and ‘scientists’ the way ancients spoke of gods. A faceless faction of futurial functions. In the news, the gods live on Earth, and they are called scientists. If you read what the researchers actually say, you will usually discover it is nothing like what is claimed by a headline or article. So, most of what ‘scientists say’, isn’t said by anyone other than a copywriter.
