Not entirely clear if this is scientific or not ( in other words, rigorous research ), but I would like to suggest that all creatures can do this, it just so happens that dolphins and other ceteaceans have relatively advanced equipment. But hearing is far more than ‘sounds’. It is shapes, textures, senses of presence or absence, colors, and meanings.
