Different engagement intentions and behavior patterns induce different results. The question isn’t whether facebook has this or that effect, but rather, what happens under the various engagement profiles and how that depends upon whether or not those involved can even sense the threats generated by the almost arbitrary recontexting of ourselves and our world that is the constant activity of social media.
