There’s some language here that I do not think is appropriate (in terms of calling things ‘computation’ and such), however, these suggestions, particularly ‘that space is a network’ are affine with my own direct experience, research, demonstration and observation. But it is not a »mechanical network, and never was. It is a network (time included) that does not comply with any modern category. It is not a thing, a process, a function, a simulation, or a program. It is not merely a being, and preexists all objects. It is not dead, yet is not merely an organism or being.

This is a wonderful article, and Wolfram is one of the most amazing minds on the planet. This doesn’t mean he’s right; it means he can shed light where others are either blind or simply refuse to see…
