Epigenetics: interesting stuff. Also interesting because this experiment appears to exclude the commensal microbiota that one might expect to be involved — at least, it appears to exclude or preclude parental and environmental innoculations, which makes me wonder a bit about the status of the commensal microbiome in the creatures involved in the study. But also inclines me to suspect an animal-cell transfer vector.
