The frameworks that our fictional cultures invent around ‘Justice’ are one of the metonymic seeds from which meaning in language, identity and relation are derived. What this means is that ‘we will only get minds as advanced’ (or retarded) as our Justice Systems. The reason is that they have authoritative purchase on aspects of identity and relation. But no ‘system’ should ever have such authority, especially one based on abstract systems. Because ours does? Our minds do this. And minds cannot and must never do this. Such minds are not minds at all. They are abstract courtrooms, devoid of intelligence and humanity, and rife with damn near everything else.
