One of the most amazing things to realize is that nearly everyone is secretly desperate to be told what and who to be. For this reason, we are incredibly suggestible, and must be extremely careful about diagnosing ourselves or others… in any way at all. Because we will become the diagnosis! Given this, it seems perfectly appropriate that our culture is on fire to teach us the next 25 ways to diagnose ourselves, others, our own backside, you name it. In America, we diagnose our way to identity, but we are supposed to blaze that trail of wonder and purpose, not crawl along it according to the labels we may briefly or even erroneously acquire. Be aware of diagnosing the world in such a way that your role is either limited or prescribed, and so, too, yourself, a situation, moment, person, or opportunity. Mostly, this just disempowers everyone and produces the projections it was imaging in order to “validate its predictive authority” and thus sneak into the driver’s seat of our perceptions, lives, and minds.
Don’t believe the hype.
