“How fascinating. You -are- an astonishing species. Let me see if I understand. They worship those people who embody and play out -fictional- roles in your culture and films with incredible power, presence, flair, and rebellion. This happens in little imaginary scenes like dreams. Unlike dreams, this is totally staged and controlled. In the very midst of the resulting spectacles, they slaughter the actual rebels, and crush the imagination of their children and adults, and have no roles of any kind that are actually worth inhabiting.
In this fashion, you witness and produce only hyperbolized representations of extreme examples of possible roles… rather than, for example —actual heroes (i.e: children, mothers…healers, activists)— who, should they begin to develop or appear, are rapidly punished, exiled, killed, raped, tortured, threatened, crucified, beaten, ignored, and… generally… despised.
Later, after they have killed the actual hero, they are then allowed to notice them again, or admire them, or even worship them as a divine spirit-being in a fantasy wonderland somewhere inside the sky? — as long as they ignore and abuse and attack them while alive. Have I got that about right?”
