People who butcher pigs in unprotected conditions may inhale pig-brain mist. The result is that they begin to form antibodies against the particles of exploded pig brain they are inhaling.
Here’s the problem: our brains and nervous systems are a lot like a pig’s… ergo… their bodies began attacking themselves…
…now, translate the metaphor from the slaughterhouse… to nature itself. All of her. And the human relationship with it. We have, after all, turned the entire planet into a slaughterhouse, openly. And we are right in the middle of it: cognitively, metabolically, socially, and emotionally.
I wonder if the pig-slaughterers realized that they were becoming immune to their own nervous system -before- their minds and bodies began failing catastrophically. I wonder if there were, you know, ‘signals’ that this was a lethal misapprehension about their relationships with nature and environments.
As I understand it, there’s another word for ‘sudden, extreme immune response to your own nervous system’:
Death.
