It is as if we have distinct ‘intelligences’ for different rates of activity. If one practices doing something familiar more and more slowly, over time, other faculties will emerge to your experience and you will learn astonishing things that radically alter the quality and capability of what happens at faster rates.

Language fools us: activities done at different rates? These are not necessarily the same activities (to our developmental selves). The mind of moving fast is not the same mind of moving slow. So, too, the body. And, perhaps, the soul.
