In matters of armed conflict, we could we take a lesson from the Japanese Honeybee. They have acquired a natural enemy so unbelievably powerful that 12-15 of these wasps can kill 40000 bees in a few hours -without even being harmed-. The marauders then gorge on the abdomens, honey, and nymphs of the decimated hive. No bee, and no group of bees, can stand in combat against the Asian giant hornet. In fact, it is the deadliest creature in Japan, bar none. This insect kills and eats praying mantises, a feat nearly no other insect can boast of. A deadlier foe in insect form would be difficult to imagine.

Immune to attack by bees, once the force locates a hive, that hive is invariably and utterly utterly annihilated.

The Japanese honeybees have developed a startling defense against their ancestral foes, which European bees cannot muster. They swarm the initial scout, but do not waste time attacking it. Instead, they form a ‘unity dance’ around the interloper (who, should it mark their hive and escape, will lead the decimation charge against them).

While they dance in unity around the scout, they beat their wings, (singing) together. This raises the temperature within the ball, and at the core, it transforms oxygen into carbon dioxide. The bees can withstand a temperature of ~118 F. The hornet can withstand a temperature of ~115 F. The target temperature of the dance is ~117 F.

The assassins’ scout is roasted alive by the unity-dance of the bees. As it never makes it home, the hive it serves will never find the bees that killed it.

Had they attacked, no matter –in what number, or with what power- their entire hive would have been utterly decimated. No bee, nor group of bees, can stand against even a single Asian hornet in combat.

The answer to the invader is not combat, but unity. Unity is not a weapon. It generates WARmth. There is no enemy that can withstand the peculiar WARmth of true unity. It is said that even Jericho fell to unarmed singers. Do not make the mistake of choosing weapons and attack over the truth of unity in the service of something beautiful.
