This is, effectively, ‘an animal tree’ inside us. And it is endlessly and utterly denied by our cultures, who, indeed, must devastate every aspect of its living and memorial basis in order to dominate and destroy it — from which processes these cultures derive political and reproductive momentum. They, in fact, convert our souls to consumables, and then charge us for the privilege of the possible or necessary palliatives for this unconscionable rape.
