I personally helped usher in the computer age, and I ran a BBS prior to the birth of the internet. I am intimately aware of the nature and potentials of technology. When beepers arose, I declined. Expensively (someone once offered me $3k/month just to wear one). When cell-phones happened, I emphatically declined. I still do. I have never owned a cell phone. But I recently obtained an [redacted], which is not a phone but does everything else. Now I have essentially the same experience you (and your children) have been having for many years. You are going to be extremely surprised when you hear what I have to say about this.
