There They Went

There was a sound.
I was a world.
The sky gave waters.
Birds of me bathed.
There was a color.
I was my mother.
Close, in a shadow.
Afraid, of a meadow.
There was a figure.
I was a soldier.
We made the murder.
Love was a slaughter.
There was a witness.
I was a victim.
Bells cracked, rang dead.
They took away my name.
There was a light.
I was the wing.
High high within.
Every shining thing.
