“Those epic battles we see simulated in films that so move and inspire us are polar reflections of the actual battles going on right here on earth, in our minds and cultures — in the last surviving ancient ecosystems, and in our few remaining avenues for the recovery, sustenance, discovery and preservation of our humanity.

Those magnificent ersatz battles and heroes whose hyperbolies we swoon for in film are, approximately, the dead remains of what we might have become and accomplished together — if we had been born to action, rather than consumption, to the roles of the ally, rather than those of the spectator. These are the replacements for those accomplishments. These, are what we get -instead-.

Those fictional battles in our films are the physical signal that emerges from our active failure to take up the causes of life, wonder and intelligence right now in our living minds and cultures.

The more magnificent our representations become? They more they mimic what we have lost, discarded, avoided, and, in your addiction to luxury and fiction… chosen to live in absolute deprivation of.

We must no longer be deceived and enchanted into passivity or slavery by the projective ecstasies of falsified glory in film and other media. So I ask you to join me in another choice. A decision we can make together, right now. A decision to reach for living glory in lives, minds, relationships and cultures. A decision to restore ourselves to glory within the damaged womb of nature. Now.

The call has never been more urgent, more obvious, or more compelling.

And if we do not answer soon, our decision will be made for us. Forever.”
