The idea that we need machines to do this arises from a catastrophic misdirection of our actual cognitive relationship with what we ignorantly call ‘nature’ as if it were somehow a thing entirely distinct from our minds and intelligence… which it can never be. In fact, the existence of machines is an open threat to organismal IA, even though it could never deliver more than an infinitesimal portion of what organismal IA does without any development whatsoever.
