There’s an interesting aspect of the function of Christianity that is shared, in general, not only by English, but Western Culture in general, and this has nothing to do really with whether these cultures and their constituents are religious in the sense of Christianity.

Here’s the strange aspect: they grind traditions and cultures into absolute similitude. That is, they produce, like factories, minds and objects and cultures in their image — literally eradicating diversity in an almost fundamentalist fashion. This is, in part, why even basic -exposure- to Western culture acts like a deadly acid in indigenous cultures.

It burns things down to easily manipulable hyperboles, and in order for this to succeed, it utilizes these hyperboles to fascinate and wonderf*ck its victims. By flattening and hyperbolizing, by formalizing the properly 3/4ths informal, this process gains a foothold in a culture, and then immediately begins advancing both its reach and developmental momentum, much like a deadly infection.

In this sense, the related cultural organs and movements can be meaningfully understood as both actively mimetic (they simulate power, glory, righteousness, intelligence, awareness, success, and heroism) and parasitic/predatory (they kill, instantiate their form, and aggressively replicate it as minds and cultures).
