A child is like an unknowing spiritual accelerant. When a child is with or between adults, the whole nature of the ‘conduit’ (it’s not a conduit but we use this metaphor) transforms. The child is unaware of its role, but it becomes an amplifier, a filter, a resonator… all sorts of ‘functions’, and the child then has emotions about this without any consciousness of their sources or meanings. The adults of course are entirely oblivious as well. They all sense things. None of them can frame any of it well enough to make conscious sense of it, or better still… make wise and gentle use of it.
