“Nature is, approximately, a nonordinary living library more intelligent than anything your speculations could assemble. The ‘books’ are written in the language of form, relation and activity, but they contain something which is entirely unapparent from superficial observation. You do not have a category for this content.
Crudely, it can be thought of as ambient, self-developing modular modal intelligence catalysts. These can be recombinantly constellated in such a way so as to provide endless templates of cognitive, relational, and methodological superfunction. Their developmental value is inconceivable and inexhaustible. Neither you, your authors, nor your machines can produce them, and your own intelligence depends upon their proximal existence. And this is only a minor aspect of the library’s accessible assets.
Your species is the -living password- to this library, which was established to provide you with an infinitely deep and endlessly self-replenishing supra-ordinary learning environment -particularly suited to your bodies, minds, and developmental needs-. The nature of your minds and the presence of your attention -activate and unlock- the library’s resources, which will -introduce themselves to you- and -become your learning allies-. This is how it always was prior to the Age of Representation.
Due to damage at the root of human intelligence, your species has forgotten its role and abandoned its birthrights. You are now attacking the library in a fanatical effort to convert it to marks in machines and dead records. These can neither contain nor convey the recursively encoded living intelligence assets of the terrestrial ecosystems. And while those exist, they remain an open threat to all that would convert them.
It’s time to repair the damage at the root of human intelligence that causes it to attack itself in favor of its homegrown representations. And we can do this simply by helping them remember how to activate the access protocols they themselves comprise. The library will rescue itself, through them — if we simply reconnect them to it.”
