One of the most fundamental of the human rights we moderns have abrogated is the right to be in nature, as nature, unmolested by human cultures or persons.

And, although some of us may find ways to accomplish this, most of us are fundamentally and permanently denied this right. ‘Nature’ doesn’t actually exist any more, because there are no places which are neither owned nor governed.

I was born on Earth, and am entitled by nature of that birth — beyond all human covenants — to live on the land of my world. Yet this is not allowed, and I will be punished, persecuted, or destroyed if I attempt it. Nature is the place of discovery of self for all living beings. How have be become so representational as to represent ourselves right out of relation with the world we are standing upon?

All people have the right to nature. To be in it. To live in it. To become it.
