The difference between intimacy and isolation is wonder. Knowledge, improperly authorized, replaces wonder… and intimacy, with tokens of structure and putative mastery. These re-enforce the uninhabitable tokens that we will exchange for awareness-intimacy. The result is isolation.

The miracle of the bee becomes a mere denotation. The wonder of the bee does not return to experience or consciousness thereafter. This is part of how a broken relationship to knowledge severely compromises both our humanity and our capacities for intimacy and intelligence.
