Real intelligence is openly humble for a simple reason: direct, intimate recognition of limitations allows one to option them for otherwise impossible movement — that is to say progress, development, discovery… or flight. In other words, the structure of the limitations becomes a source of opportunity.

Meanwhile, stupidity is so certain of its intelligence, grace, and prowess that it cannot detect that it is failing to notice or employ the obvious limitations. It has confused its collisions with walls of its own manufacture with flying or excellence. As if this were insufficient, it is often desperate to advertise itself as an expert or even an authority on development.
