The water is flashy in a different way than the speedboat. The speedboat appears almost like a magical genius, or a demon of power. Yet, without the water, the speedboat is comically useless. The flashiness of the speedboat was, in fact, established by the waters. Their characteristics. Their potential states. Water called speedboats into being. Yet, without speedboats, water is absolutely at ease.
Water tolerates boats. Boats, on the other hand, are not really boats until actually immersed enough water to activate their boat-qualities. The water’s silence and reflectivity, its fluidity, allow the almost blasphemous monstrosity of the speedboat to arise and exist. Water tolerates boats.
