Pain, including emotional pain, catalyzes what might be understood as a trance potential. This is perfectly natural since pain and the opportunity to experience the deeply focused awareness available within trance are naturally related.

Undirected, however, this potential will tend to be capitalized upon by relatively predatory aspects of consciousness or culture. If enough pain can be created and ambiently communalized, then the resulting vulnerability to trance can be co-opted for nearly any purpose, in almost any population.

Think about this with great care, and realize that the elements of one’s own consciousness which do this are like those of the body politic.

These forces are not so much driven by names and people as they are forces prevalent in the ambiance of relational structure and activity. Names and people may become involved as expressors but they are not the source.

The forces are hyperboles of the general atmosphere, and when driven by circumstances or history to do so they will effectively invoke balance through potentiating crisis. But we can take advantage of this situation to heal and empower each other.

If we shall have pain, we shall become answers, and occupy the place where previous predators have stood; if our pain is to be bait for trance, we shall decide what trance, and to what end, and for what reasons… together. With and for each other and our world.

We will no longer kneel to those who have so long and cruelly fed upon our vulnerability. We will not feed our lives and the lives our our children to them.

If it is human nature to be vulnerable to trance, we must use this facet of our cognitive inheritance to its highest and most beautiful potentials… and not those dictated by criminals, predators, rapists, and those who would for dire purpose reshape our minds in the images of the subjugated, the tricked, the confused, and the consumed.
