“I was taking my daughter to school today. She is 4. She began to ask me about lessons, but in an unusual way. She asked where she would get lessons on how to become a horse. Or a dolphin. She wanted lessons on how to become a bird. And a dragon. I asked her if she meant lessons -about- a bird. She said no; and was clear: she wanted to know where she would get lessons on how to become animals. Even animals that do not exist. She seemed to think this was an entirely ordinary and reasonable thing to request.”
