When our thoughts, contemplations, longings and dreams… depart from our incessant focus on personal gain, comfort, and guarantees… to ascend toward the necessity of a survivable, human, and intelligent human culture in our home, our village, our towns, cities, nations and world… when we have departed the fear-funded fever-dreams of individual entitlement for the superior agreements of mutual care, skillful relation, and learing-in-nature… we will have come to the beginning of our humanity.

We exist now outside of it; exiled by our desperate greed for personal or collective aggrandizement and ‘preservation’. But we achieve neither, and instead, have lost much of what makes us human as we attack the organismal basis of life on Earth.

Whatever humanity we may hope for as a species will only be recovered together.

Who can say what may call us to such a vast and shocking correction as a people… but as individuals, it is not so catastrophic a change. Many are undergoing it already.

Some of us have been quietly living in the next world for years now.
