“Humans? Peculiar animals. We sometimes think of them as creatures who became enslaved by misapprehensions related to the nature and potential of their mechanical and rational prowess. Flush with their apparent ‘victories’ over nature… a concept hilarious in and of itself… they embarked on one of the boldest and most tragicomic gestures in the history of sentient life. They began to produce objects for the sake of producing objects; to serve, reproduce and distribute their machines while pretending the opposite was the case, and were, in the end, first remade in the image of their incessant obsessions, and then destroyed. We call them the ants that followed a toy into the fire. A metaphor from their own world. Well, what used to be their world.”
