It is actually amazing how generally inept, overwrought, paranoid, delusional, and hyper-reactive the arbitrarily assembled intelligences of human groups are. This is most easily observed in movements such as religious fundamentalism, scientism, conspiracisim, and the so-called ‘new-age’ (which, generally comprise bizarre misapprehensions of old-age ideas with modern spin) all of which commonly generate mountains of nonsense with great (usually self-generated) fanfare. It is amazing to see the difference between these examples of human groupthink, and those which, at least marginally include something analogous to critical thinking.
