Now, what I want you to do is simple. I want you to locate a beehive. Wild is best, but any will do. Over the course of a few weeks, visit and observe it. Do not put anything near the hive. Spend time with the beings who comprise the hive. If possible, learn something about its enemies, too.

Observe, and feel the hive. Its rhythms. Become familiar with it. Imagine what it is like as a bee, inside the structure. Imagine the ‘extended body’ of the hive in the world during daylight. Watch the dramas that may play out at the hive entrances. Imagine the dreaming hive at night.

Then, find the queen (inside the hive), with your mind, and introduce yourself respectfully and with humility. In your heart-mind. In your ‘imagination’.

After this you may go on three occasions to the hive with a specific purpose. Sit, and resolve your attention to become intimate again with it as a being. And then talk to the queen. In your ‘imagination’, explain your concerns, your fears, your dreams, and your hopes to her. Allow the hive itself, through the queen, to become an extension of your being and your mind…

And listen.
