So far we’ve spent ~33 billion (US) dollars on the Star Wars film franchise. Good thing we don’t have even moderately advanced education or effective health care yet. But war? We’ve got that in… ahem… copiously explosive quantities.

And movies? We have a -lot- of movies. Oh, and we like wargames, too. We spent at least 235,182 human life-years playing Halo over the past 8 years. That’s just a single game on a single platform. Like Star Wars is a single film franchise…
