For the past 300 years or so, our species has waged open war upon the basis of life on earth, and the organismal basis of the relational symmetries and streams from which we ourselves emerge.

Now, as we bask in unsustainable hubris, many modern nations face serious financial, economic, social and political turmoil, and we shall see that protections for the environment will be remembered wistfully as they are replaced with urgent paradigms of kill, harvest, and sell. What has been tragedy is become atrocity.

So, in typical form, not only have we failed to recognize or contact the planetary intelligence… we’re desperately trying to dismember it and sell the parts for weapons, machines, farms… we’re poisoning it with radiation and chemistry, burning it with fire, and shocking the depths of the seas with explosive radars. Homo-Wise-Wise is desperately attempting to assassinate the living context from which we arise and to which the intelligence we employ in this process owes its form, genesis, power, and function.

Remember when we downgraded Pluto from a planet to… something else? Well, I think we might be in for an ironic response from our own planet, as we are downgraded from ‘irreplaceable’ to ‘must be destroyed at any cost’. I think it’s time we gave up our species name, too, for it was clearly misappropriated. Homo-Wise-Wise is more like Homo-Stupid-Ache.
