I like to sit around and ask questions like this: what sort of life form travels between worlds in a state of relative biological suspension, lands somewhere like Earth, and becomes the tree of organisms we see and are and know from remains. That is the sort of life form we are. We are star-fish. The swimmer between stars. And we are older, more fascinating, and more strange than all the human stories combined. Perhaps one day we shall pay less attention to those stories… and more to what we’re carrying inside us.
