And it came to pass that one day the masks began to speak. And what came out of them was astonishing. They told the truth of the disappeared and those who could not speak or be heard. They spoke for the silenced and the invisible. They told the stories of those who had been raped, killed, lost, murdered, lied about, and sold. It was impossible to shut them up, because as they began speaking, they became indestructible.
They told the stories of the conquered, the children, the beaten. They told every detail. The names. The crimes. The places. They told it all and no one could silence them. The creatures and places too. Everything. They told the entire body of the poison.
Though they named the perpetrators it was not they who their grim stories indicted, but instead what infected them. And their perfect speeches became the antidote that trained us to track and resolve the source, instead of attacking the symptom while pretending this was justice.
They said they would keep talking until everyone was healed and everything had changed. And they did precisely this.
