Wile E. Coyote is cerebral, megalomaniacal, self-aggrandizing, pretentious, and masquerades as intelligent by attempting to successfully deploy acquired technologies. His plots are overwrought, and his idea of reality is flat (like the strange blueprints he is often seen with), and his plans almost invariably result in severe self-punishment (which we must presume he blames the Road Runner for).

Invisibly, we may note that he must never capture his quarry. To do so would violate the fundamental structure of his being.

The Road Runner is playful, fast, unconcerned, attentive, magically fluid, does not make plans, appears from and departs into the distance, and can easily subdue the most elaborate plans of his playmate, often resulting in the intended result being delivered to the perpetrator. The Road Runner could easily catch Wile E. Coyote, but is, of course, the pursued, not the pursuer.

Now, they only come in a pair… and in this, they are like our hemispheres… which each contribute to the other. But we can easily see which one is ruling our world, and the probable outcomes of that situation.
