We mistakenly believe that creatures, plants, places… ‘exist’ in some way as individuals. But there has never been even a single instance of this delusion. All the entities and gestalts we perceive are ‘calling one another into being’, and this creates both astonishing potentials, and illusions. There is the illusion that desires are ‘granted’ if we only fervently hold them in mind, and the opposite illusion that individuality is a fact. And there is an additional player in this calling, and we call her Memory. She is almost always involved, but more so when we are not relating directly with things, beings, events, relationships and circumstances. In these situations, memory is the strange ghost that takes their place… and continues the calling as we flow, eternally it seems, between being and obliteration.
