In our time, those who fund science largely own the research, patenting, and publication processes, and may thus largely or completely stipulate the goals, perspectives, and outcomes of these processes.

For this reason, ‘Science’ is increasingly becoming the common person’s enemy (where it was once the ally of our intelligence and mechanical capacities) primarily because the processes, goals, and outcomes are not being stipulated by ordinary people or reasonably established groups. They are being stipulated by the academy, the prison-industrial complex, industry, allopathic medicine, and the military.

This is catastrophic for science, the planet, and the common person. Science is the only sophisticated way of knowing that openly condones and conducts the torture of living beings, ceaselessly. As if this were not enough, its practitioners generally turn a deaf ear to opposition to this fact. And everyone else largely goes along, as if in some sort of bizarre trance.

The days of ‘any research is good research’ and ‘knowledge at any price’ must come to an end. If they do not, we will suffer greater and greater atrocities, and will continue to find ourselves and our environment being injured or destroyed by subjugation to the outcomes of such myopic practices.
