“Where shall we apply the pain that our insane greed, fear, and ignorance have cost us?”
“On the wealthy.”
“On everybody else.”
“We don’t know.”
“Let’s redistribute it.”
It’s a moot argument. Insofar as the organizations which ‘govern’ us are concerned, we can clearly observe that entire social and infrastructural basis of our nation and our shared human culture has been replaced with parasitic-aggressive mimics. These organizations will continue to prosecute their own agendas of survival, dominance, terrain acquisition (in real and relational terms) and resource garnishment. They are, in the final analysis, exceptionally self interested.
The results of their dominance have been horrifying and catastrophic to our own citizens, the environment, and the citizens of the world. Apparently, at least for the past 20 years or so, we have been too busy running around partying and shouting about our own greatness and heroism to take note of this.
To participate in our culture is, in general, something like the opposite of learning. Largely it represents a base and ferocious attack on the very roots of our humanity and intelligence.
Education has become an oxymoron. What we are calling health-care is at present, largely a high-tech protection racket, with eccentric fringes that can still deliver reliable consistent care to those who can afford it. The basic infrastructure that is in place to support our environment, children, families, the elderly and our communities themselves is being shredded so that we can build new prisons and hire new police to fill and guard them. Instead of investing in our people and our national identity, we invest in war and long-con banking swindles.
Redistributing the cost of upkeep for the parasitic agendas currently in play would be the most apocalyptic of mistakes. If we are going to have a chance at a future that will preserve and nurture our humanity, our hope of free and intelligent culture, our need for a mutually beneficial relationship with the environment, and our dreams of a society too busy being heroic to brag about it… we are going to have to change how we think about and assemble both governments and consensus.
What is needed is not a re-shuffling of numbers. It is time for us to out the actual character and activities of agendas running our nation, to take clear account of their real identity and function in our lives and world, and to completely re-establish from the ground up the ideals and methods we shall employ to achieve the goals for which our governmental and associated organizations are intended, for they have long sought and achieved goals quite their opposite whilst claiming glory.
The advance of such follies must end in our generation. We must establish something in their place that sustains and nurtures our growth, our humanity, our highest hopes for our world and children, and the fundamental dignities which are our human birthrights.
No lesser goal will suffice.
