So… apparently Facebook and another company specializing in advanced algorithms determined that it’s not 6 degrees of separation between most of us… it’s more like 5.
Sure, but did they take -=their own presence in the data=- into account? No. See, -=post-facebook=- (whose introduction radically changed the whole game of social connection for many)… it probably -is- 5. I suspect they ignored their own impact on the data, but as the researcher, you have to take your own activities of relation, thought, and approach into account.
My friend Ryan has a gamecam that watches over a small area of terrain. But it is often noticed by the creatures it photographs. Could the gamecam change the creatures? It will, and does.
