The beginning of understanding is the doorway to the interiority of the self. Unfortunately, this door is often locked. The tumblers of the barrier are comprised by knowledge, habit, fear, and ignorance. Many have no idea what to do in the face of such obstacles, and for most of us, long years of confusion are required before we may attempt to find or pass this threshold.
