It is a strange and terrifying thing, to walk in a city of endless doors, knowing that nearly all of them are locked against you — except those which are, in effect, only there to shrive you of your money and discard you. We have assembled a future far uglier than most are capable of seeing, for our eyes became lame in the process, and no longer detect even the most egregious violations of our common humanity.
