Earth is not a ragtag assemblage of distinct elements any more than you are. Each of the elements in the environment emerged and evolved in an organ-like relationship with the unity. Earth is not a series of networked environments and individuals: networks are sub-unities expressed by the whole. Our common human perspectives are backwards: Earth is a unity expressing individuals as developmental children of itself.
