I have seen in the eyes and actions of sparrows and ants… more sentience, more intelligence… and indeed, more sensitivity… than I have found in my long survey of my fellow men. And though I know my survey is shallow, and unique to me, I must say that with rare exception, my choice for companionship would not be human.
