Climate change became a red-herring that allowed our governments to overtly ignore more obvious deadly threats inherent in human behavior. Threats such as the deep toxicification of every living organism and ecology on Earth. Or pharmaceutical chemistries and radioactive waste from fallout warping the genomes of terrestrial organisms. It’s impossible to ignore: we are the bad kind of science fiction, and its victims.
